“I was about to give up completely before I found Claire and the Awesome Business group on Facebook. My business was zilch: no sales, no customers. I took the plunge because I need to change me and business. Claire has given me the confidence to stand up and say ‘I’m going to do this’—and I am.”

Cheryl’s Flowers
Cheryl Slater’s floristry business Cheryl’s Flowers is based from her home in the village of Toppesfield, Essex. She’d reached business rock bottom when her social media and marketing efforts brought in next to no results and she was close to giving up when she discovered The Girls Mean Business…

“I have become more confident about putting myself out there, which I found difficult to do before—I’d been ignoring the fact that I have to get out there and get known. I’ve seen a massive change in myself as I talk to more and more people every day about me and my business. Claire has taught me how to sell myself!”

It all started with The Girls Mean Business…
“When I was feeling very isolated in my business and I was struggling with constant knockbacks. I wanted to give up so many times, because I felt I was doing it all for nothing. Then I found Claire on Facebook and I didn’t hesitate. I signed up straight away because I knew I needed guidance.

What it’s given me is…
“An understanding of what my business needed, what was I lacking and what was I not doing. It has helped me get to grips with social media in a way that actually brings in sales and I’ve finally started an email list (with subscribers signing up every day!) and a newsletter too. I use the Awesome Marketing Planner to diarise everything and to keep a weekly log of social media followers so that I can track progress.”

For my business that means…
“I’m getting a steady flow of flower orders and prospective customer emails. I have some weddings booked and more enquiries coming in and I’ve even taken a regular weekly order with someone from the village because Claire encouraged me to talk to people locally about my business—it’s worked! People are starting ask me to arrange workshops, too. The future is bright and I can see the workshops becoming very popular.”

The Girls Mean Business is my cup of tea because…
“The teaching is very clear and precise and easy to follow and I’m becoming really organised with my marketing. I now plan to do weekly videos on YouTube, which I would never have done until I met Claire. But, as she’s taught me, it’s so important because people buy from people, not faceless businesses.
