About Claire

Claire Mitchell is the founder of The Girls Mean Business™, an online business school for women who are serious about growing their business and making more money!

Her extensive marketing background includes 15 years in corporate marketing departments before she escaped to go it alone. She has a modern languages degree from Birmingham University and an MBA from Durham University Business School.

Claire Mitchell and Sheryl SandbergNow Claire is a successful 13-year entrepreneur, author and speaker, providing business and marketing training for women business owners as well as associations, companies and conferences internationally.

She is an acknowledged online marketing and social media expert. Her Facebook page has upwards of 90,500 fans and she has a subscriber base of over 25,000 individuals across the world who receive her weekly marketing and business newsletter.

She was a founder member of Facebook’s European Small Business Client Council and was hailed by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg as ‘one to watch’.

She’s been featured in The Guardian, Marie-Claire magazine, Essentials, Closer, the Huffington Post and Die Welt (Germany’s largest newspaper) as well as national radio and TV. Her straight-talking and easy-to-understand approach to marketing and business has transformed the lives and businesses of thousands of women entrepreneurs and business owners around the world.

Oh yes, and despite achieving all of this Claire is an introvert who has tried, and hated, public speaking. Consequently she doesn’t take on any speaking gigs or workshops these days, preferring to spend her time at home, building her business from her house on the riverbank in North East England.

She is quite happy to consider guest blogging and appearing as a guest on podcasts and webinars – please email hello@thegirlsmeanbusiness.com if you have a proposal you’d like her to consider!
