My teenage daughter, Chloe is suffering from HWA today.
It’s making her go to her Grandma’s
Call friends
Feel ‘sick’
Be unable to get up due to ‘the dog needing a cuddle’
It’s really taking up a LOT of her time.
Do you know what’s causing it?
Homework.
HWA is Home Work Avoidance and it’s rife in this house.
And the best thing is, if she actually sat down and focused for an hour it would be done, instead of it hanging over her for days.
Anyway, she made me think of you.
In our world it’s not home work avoidance, it’s procrastination and most people (maybe even you) will use it whenever something difficult, or unpleasant needs doing.
This is your notice that you’re rumbled. I’m going to give Chloe a little pep talk so I’ll give you a pep talk too.
Just do it. Do the thing you’re avoiding. Get it off your list and free up the mental space and energy it’s taking. You’ll feel SO much better afterwards.
