Helen, my sister works with me in my home office. She says ‘everything beeps in your house!’
She’s right. My washer and drier beep. My dishwasher beeps. My solar panels batteries sometimes beep. My fridge beeps. My air frier beeps. My bread maker beeps.
And it’s a good job they do. I’m busy.
If my washer and drier didn’t beep when they’re done, I would forget to get the clothes out, probably for days. If my bread maker didn’t beep I’d forget to get the bread out while it’s still warm.
My solar batteries beep if there’s an error code. My big American fridge beeps if I haven’t shut the door properly.
Beeps are reminders. They get my attention and make sure I don’t forget to do something.
A bit like emails.
Emails can be reminders. They can keep you top of mind.
They can make sure your subscribers don’t forget to do something important like remember to buy before the price goes up, or to grab this offer before the deadline.
They let your subscribers know when you have something new that will help them, or when you have appointments available, or that your customer just got this great result.
Some people find beeps annoying. Others, like my hard-of-hearing husband, don’t hear them at all. But lots of us need beeps to remind us to do things in our busy life.
Create beeps.
Love, Claire xx
