The answer is, I treat people how I’d like to be treated.

I’ve been in memberships where I’ve had to jump through hoops to leave, and I find that really annoying.

I don’t want to have to email or (heaven forbid) ring you to cancel my subscription.

People leave memberships for all sorts of reasons.

It doesn’t matter to me why they want to leave, but if they do then I want it to be as painless for both of us as possible so if they want to come back, they have a good feeling about my membership.

Lots do come back. And lots recommend my membership to their friends.

You’ll often see me say ‘make it easy to buy’. With memberships it’s just as important to ‘make it easy to leave’.
