I’ve started going to a theatre near me quite often, mainly because Chloe loves musicals but we are also going to see a fab thing about the Night Sky soon. Anyway, here’s the thing.

The first time I went, a couple of months ago, I was worried about the parking. If you saw yesterday’s email, you’ll understand.

There wasn’t enough info on the website or socials for me to work out the best place to park so I had to guess. We set off with an hour to spare (!!) and good job because I got lost, one of my anxiety-inducing situations. My satnav eventually got us there and I found a nice space right at the back of the carpark and then enjoyed the show.

When I came back after the show, the queues to get out were enormous. Like, we sat in the car with the engine off for 30 minutes and the queue didn’t shrink. It was 40 minutes before we got out of the car park. I’m too polite to push in. Yes, I know it’s ridiculous. Welcome to my world.

If I ran the theatre’s website, or maybe just their Facebook page I’d have a bit on parking that says ‘This is the nearest car park. If you’re in a hurry to leave, get there early and park at the front. Otherwise, stick around in the bar and give it half an hour.” Or something like that. At least I’d have known. And stayed in the warm bar instead of my cold car.

Next time I’ll know. But I would have appreciated the tip-off because when I got to that carpark, it was empty and I had my pick of spots. I just didn’t know.

Little tips, whether it’s about parking for your business, or little things that will help you make the most of your visit, or how to choose the best option for you…they matter.

Love, Claire xx
