We went out at the weekend and bought a lovely 7ft Christmas Tree, got it home and realised our stand had rusted and broken. Urgh. So I went back to the farm shop and bought a £20 stand for big trees. Got it home, within 10 minutes the tree had fallen over and the stand had broken. Grrr.

So this time I went to B&Q, looked at all the options, had a little Google and plumped for a ridiculously expensive German tree stand that was supposed to be super-easy to use, suitable for up to 10ft trees and had a big water reservoir. It cost twice as much as the tree. Not even joking.

BUT within an hour I had my money’s worth and then some. We set it up in minutes. Then realised it was wonky, but the new stand let us EASILY reposition it. We got the lights and decorations on, then realised the side view looked way better than the front view, so we used the little pedal on the stand and again repositioned it easily.

It might have cost way more than I’d usually pay but I got my VALUE out of it, fast. And I’ll look after it, because it was expensive and I’ll probably never need to buy another one.

And it made me think of you. If what you sell is great quality, the right people will pay more for it. Just make sure you tell them how good it is.

Love, Claire xx
