Don’t Leave Your Customers in the Dark

I have to steer clear of certain ingredients right now, including milk, egg, potato, and maize—and you would be AMAZED at how many products include at least one of these, when you least expect it. I have to do the thing where I check all the ingredients before I put anything in my basket, even the ‘Free From’ products.

The problem is, in my local supermarket, the ‘Free From’ section is in the darkest corner of the store. There are no lights above it. So, the people who are most likely to need to check ingredients are stuck in a dark corner, phone camera on Zoom, wandering round trying to find some light.

And it made me think of you.

Are you doing this to your customers?

If your products or services aren’t easy to find, understand, or access, you’re leaving your audience fumbling in the dark. Make sure you:

  1. Shine a Light on What They Need: Clearly highlight the most important information about your offer. Spell out the benefits so there’s no confusion.
  2. Put It Where They Can See It: Whether it’s a call-to-action button, a product feature, or a testimonial, don’t make your customers dig for the good stuff.
  3. Think About Accessibility: Make sure your website, social posts, and offers are easy to navigate. People are busy—don’t make them work harder than they need to!

Be the brightly lit aisle your customers will love shopping in! ✨

Love, Claire xx
